This is an optional patch for Highway Blossoms that adds two additional scenes of uncensored, explicit R18 sexual content to the game. It also adds nude sprites to one scene.

Highway Blossoms 1.2.2, 1.2.1, and 1.2 have been released now, and as such, the instructions written below this comment no longer apply to these versions — the version numbers are now in full alignment, and the new 00-README.html file has the correct set of instructions for applying the patch.

Ren'Py works the same way for macOS, Windows and Linux.
Matching the Build Dates
The version of Highway Blossoms on itch.io is 2.5.4 at the time of writing, but you want the 1.1.1 version of the patch. The game itself doesn't tell you what build version it is, but the itch.io interface does.
Here's how you can tell: itch says the build is dated Sep 30, 2020. The patch folder contains a .karentools-build-info text file with the build date for the patch. Make sure this date is the same as the date listed on itch.io.
The date for the 1.1.1 patch is:
ビルド 2020年09月30日 (水) 00:00:00 +0900 (JST)
It's in the Year, Month, Day format. So, the dates match. That means this is the right version.
Applying the Patch:
Extract the archive. Copy the adult.rpa file into the game/ folder. Launch Highway Blossoms.
Activating R18+ Content:
Go to General settings and enable R18+ Content.
I'm having a lot of trouble getting the R18 patch to work, can anyone help?
I've tried every single patch version and still no luck. it said there would be "detailed instructions" in the readme for it, but all it said was "If the adult patch is detected in the game files, this will give you the option to turn the added content on and off without having to uninstall the content." but I don't see where I'm supposed to turn it on or off, and there isn't a single guide or thread that has been able to help me with this. I've restarted my computer a million times already. This is my first time doing this so I'm a bit lost. Is the option supposed to appear in the in-game settings? I haven't been able to find it there.
A step by step guide starting from when you first click install would be most useful to me. Any help is appreciated
Hi! I was having difficulty too but I figured it out. This method worked on Windows, so I'm not sure how it will fair on Mac or Linux, but I think it'll still work.
Download the "Highway_Blossoms_Remastered-2.54-all-ages-win" version of the game & download the 1.1.1 patch
Then extract both into desired place
Go into the extracted 1.1.1 patch and copy "adult.rpa" - the other file does not matter
Then go into the extracted "Highway_Blossoms_Remastered-2.54-all-ages-win" and locate the folder "game" and open it - the folder should be roughly 847 megabytes
then just right click and paste "adult.rpa" into that folder
restart the game and go into preferences and it should be there under Transitions - just click the box

The version of Highway Blossoms and Highway Blossoms - Next Exit, I have bought on GOG are both version 2.5.4.
The highest patch number here is 1.2
Will this patch work with the GOG 2.5.4 version?
The correct patch to use for your version should be 1.1.1.
Apologies for the confusion — the version number listed on GOG did not come from us.
The 1.2 patch is for the upcoming 1.2 update that will be pushed to digital storefronts soon (which will also correct the version number listed on GOG, as we now have direct access to it).
